After-all, if god makes a tumor grow in someone doesn't he want it to stay there? What are your thoughts on this?

Jeez Jim, that is awful. I just wanted some crack-pot answers from fundies. I didn't want to upset you, or make you think about it in that way. I'm sorry, man. I sure hope he feels better.

God doesn't make the tumor grow in someone he allows it so that (a) the person grows thru the trial or (b) some one sees their faith and comes closer to god as a result of it.God can do any thing at any time but he sees the whole picture and knows what will happen.saying that God makes the tumor grow is like saying God made hurricane katrina kill people. I do not believe the doctors who help people are sinning but believe that God may use their skill to help the person.

God's will prevails no matter what we try to do here on earth. Doctors were predestined by God to do precisely what they do. Perhaps in making the decision that a tumor should stay...you are actually interfering with another aspect of what God wants to accomplish through that experience. See...someone dying effects others. Perhaps that person that has the tumor is saved, but one of the doctors is not? A relative? A nurse? Someone! It is more important that God reaches them maybe? I think it is safe to simply pray that Gods will be done in such matters.

God gives everyone trials and tribulations. They are to test your faith and strength. Also know that God never gives you more then you can handle.

As for the doctors sinning....no they are not. All knowledge comes from God. Therefore, those doctors are using their God-given knowledge to help God's other children.

I speak from experience as I have had kidney disease since I was 18 months old. I have had two kidney transplants, done dialysis before each one and currently doing dialysis again. I have almost died on 3 separate occasions, the most recent being in 2003. I also have a heart murmur, high blood pressure, asthma and arthritis in my spine, knees, ankles and fingers. I am only 40 years old. That is alot to have happen in such a short time and to some it can appear overwhelming. To me, it is just my way of life and I don't question it since I don't know what a "normal" and "healthy" life is like.

My husband has had cancer, a massive heart attack, quadruple bypass surgery and was just recently diagnosed with PAD for which he is currently in the hospital for because he needed surgery. He is 63 and didn't have any health problems until 7 years ago. He finds it harder to accept all his health problems because unlike myself, he was healthy and normal for so long.

However, we both accept that God has given us these ailments as a test. We are also extremely grateful that he has given the doctors that treat us the knowledge to do so.

An affliction is not necessarily a physical problem. It could be a mental/psychological illness, or it could be, as is suspected, a demonic influence which reminds us of our past failures and sins. One which tells us we aren't really a Christian, or we really arn't as good as we think we are, because we may have done some pretty aweful things in the past. Remember, Paul, before his convertion, was a murderer of the saints.
Satan knows where we are weak, and will use our weaknesses to trip us. God uses our weaknesses for his glory.

God does not touch us with afflictions, but does allow affliction to come on us.

Remember, "My grace is sufficient for you."

If a parent did what people say that God does that parent would have children's services called on them.
Doesn't the bible say that every good and perfect gift comes from God. If it does not fall in the category of good AND perfect is not possible that it did not come from God.
Is is not possible that sickness is not God's perfect will for a person just like going to hell is not God's perfect will for a person? Just because something happens does not mean that it is God's will. People have a will too.

If it is Gods will for that tumor to grow and that person not to be better - then nothing a Dr. will do can help that. If it is Gods will for them to be healed then it will also happen with or with out the help of a Dr. God has a plan and if it is for that person to be healed then no matter - that will happen. Everything happens for a reason - Gods reason. It isn't for us to understand, but for us to accept.

Doctors just do their jobs. They're there for a reason. If a person gets a tumor, and God wants it to stay there, believe me, nothing a doctor can do will take it away.

God is a loving God who does NOT want his people to suffer. He sent his only son to suffer in our place. Therefore I don't believe the doctors ar sinning, only acting to aid God's people. Look again at the Bible. Read carefully and try to wade through some of what gets lost in translation - why would He send His son to die in our place if he wanted us to suffer?

It does not seem as if helping someone get well is necissarily a sin because any illness is not, by nature, always gods will. There could be other causes for illnesses...
