I live in Texas and every year for several years it is just getting hotter and hotter. I know about the global warming but...how hot do you really think that it is going to get in the upcoming years? Because it is supposed to be 105 today but it has been up to 112 this summer. I am sick of it and ready to move to Colorado.

The real question at hand is...is it going to be normal say in 20 years to be sitting outside and it be a cool 120? I just want to know if that will be the norm?

It may be getting hotter, but by a fraction of a degree each year due to global warming. When the nation is in a heat wave during the summer, everyone starts to freak out about global warming. Global warming isn't making the temperatures 20 degrees hotter than normal, its just a weather system that is strong. Global warming cannot possibly make the temperature rise 15 degrees over one summer or one year. The Earth's average temperature will get warmer over the years..but by a very small amount. Most humans don't notice the change, but it does effect ocean levels and other habitats. Humans only think they notice it when their area is experiencing a heat wave. No one cares about global warming in the winter.

Some would claim global warming caused by our pollution and auto emissions are responsible. I try to be objective about it and I also understand that temperature trends fluctuate... did you know between 1940 and 1978 the average global temperature actually DECREASED? And over the last hundred years the average global temperature only increased by less than a single degree? Compare that to the 8 degree increase marked by the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum event which occurred about 55 million years ago. Read about it!
Furthermore, the temperatures on earth right now are the coldest they have been in the last 450 million years, since the Ordovician/Silurian age. And we're pulling our hair out over the events of the last 100 years... that's an eyeblink, timewise.
We may be undergoing a trend in increasing temperatures right now, but there may be other processes at work. Time will tell!!

I live in Texas, too, and I agree....the summers are hotter every year and the winters are milder every year. When I was a boy, there was snow on the ground every November thru January. Now, it barely dips below freezing for more than four or five total days. The summers were milder, too. Still hot enough to swim comfortably every day, but the humidity was lighter and the overall temperature reading seldom broke 102 degree.
Yes, something is going on with the weather and I don't think its gonna be good. Colorado sounds good to me too, especially the Colorado Springs area. What part of Texas do you sweat in?

It was over 100 in Chicago lately. It is getting warmer every year. On the better side of this change for Chicago's Winters thought. We had hardly any heavy snow and deep freeze for a few years already. Did human being caused the global warming? I don't think this question has been answered yet. At least there isn't any convincing prove that we did it.

There has been a a slight temperature increase over the last ~100-150 years. This summer was unusually warm but last summer was pretty cool. You live in Texas. It's hot.
Last winter was also cooler than normal. People can blame the crutch of global warming all they want. The fact is that the earth warms and cools periodically.

I live in Nebraska and I grew up in Iowa. I remember winters from my childhood where the weather was BITTERLY cold. I am talking about ---20 degrees. The past 10 years the winters have been getting more and more mild. The past 5 years especially have been very mild. We get snow but it melt with in days... and we have 40 degrees in December... NOT NORMAL. I remember tunnels of snow that would build up. Once you got snow it usually stuck around until spring. That just doesn't happen here anymore.
Global warming is apparent.

Yes it is hott as hell! I live in Florida, and let me tell you, this 100 degree weather everyday is almost unbearable! I cant stand it. People really need to start taking care of the environment. I mean, I'm just like everyone else who drives everyday and runs electricity, but i try to watch it... yano??.. like turn a lights off when your out of a room. RECYCLE! and plant some trees. We all need to start to work together to make a difference. If we don't do something soon about this, it will just get hotter and hotter and things will get more expensive and worse. Tell your friends to help! I LOVE THE EARTH! We need to take care of it!

Heating and cooling trends are very natural for all planets, and I doubt Mars has "global warming" problems. As we move closer and farther from the sun during rotations it is going to happen. Also Earth is constantly moving closer to the sun, because of the sun's gravity. Global warming may or may not be a natural part of Earth's cycle. As for moving to a cooler climate that would be a smart move. I grew up in Texas and my Grandma had a saying, "If I end up in Hell I'm going to need a blanket after living in Texas"!

Yes my dear as the global warming is up high due to the depletion of the ozone layer climate changes are inevitable coz the poles each side is slowly disintergrating/melting. The heat is accumulated in the air. With rise in sea level of 1.5cm each year think the future possibilities!!!
