Matthew 2:19-23

The Return to Nazareth
19 After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt 20and said, "Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child's life are dead."

21 So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel. 22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee, 23 and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets: "He will be called a Nazarene."

Mark 14:67
noticed Peter warming himself at the fire. She looked at him closely and then said, "You were one of those with Jesus, the Nazarene."

Mark 16:6
but the angel said, "Do not be so surprised. You are looking for Jesus, the Nazarene, who was crucified. He isn't here! He has been raised from the dead! Look, this is where they laid his body.

Jesus was brought up in the small town of Nazareth, probably meaning “Sprout-Town.” The apostle Matthew calls attention to Jesus’ being called a Nazarene (apparently from the Heb. ne′tser, sprout) as a fulfillment of prophecy, alluding to the prophecy at Isaiah 11:1.—Mt 2:23.

Considering there is no proof in any historical text of a city or town called NAZARETH during the time of Jesus that is a good question.

Because He was from Nazarath. It has nothing to do with a particular religious sect. I've read some answers to other questions who erroneously say it has to do with Christ being in the same sect as Samson. Samson was a Nazarite, there's a difference, even in the spelling.
