The German brands are more status oriented, but are horribly unreliable. I've seen numerous NEW BMW's, Audi's, Mercedes, and some Porsches with burnt out or shorted (one light being much brighter than the other) lights. This seems to be endemic to German cars as there electrical systems are deplorable. Lexus has recently received the highest quality award for the 12th straight year. They may not provide the snob appeal the European cars do, but they (Lexus) are just as luxurious - if not more so - and are infinitely more reliable.

Definitelt a Caddy. Nothing rides like a Caddy. They also perform well, run on regular gas and are easy to maintain.

I've had a Lexus (LEMON) and a BMW 750 il and just went back to a Caddy. The Lexus was in the shop more than I drove it and the BMW was just too much trouble to maintain; not to mention the phantom electrical problems BMW seems plagued with.
