I'm curious to know if parents who used the Baby Einstein videos with their infants think that it improved their intellect?

We used several of these videos with our son. He really liked them, and we could see that he learned a great deal from them. They held his attention better than any other program, and they are fun for adults and kids to watch together.

As far as improving his overall intellect, that may be a stretch. I don't know if there is any real way to tell - I think that the more a child is exposed to, the more he/she will be stimulated, and the more he will grow and become curious.

My son is three years old now. He is advanced in some areas, behind in others, and developing at the "normal" rate in still others. I doubt the videos had anything to do with his intellect, but they were a great way to calm him down before nap and bedtime. He loved the characters, the colors, and the toys.

my baby and my son loved the baby einstein videos. I thought of them as educational and entertaining. Not only that but it was a form of benign neglect as I had to get things done in our home and I couldn't just leave the kids to do nothing at all. Now that the kids are a bit older they really like "litte einsteins" this is geared more to preschoolers and younger aged kids.
Still, every once in awhile they want to watch the baby einstein videos.
They both recognize classical music and art works that were featured in the videos.

I think the baby einstein videos are great!

My niece (almost 2 y.o) watches them everyday, especially during meal times. It's the only thing that could draw her attention and calm her down, otherwise she's very active. I would say she's clever because she keeps moving (sometimes mimicking what's on the videos) and baby talks a lot. But she doesn't know how to talk properly yet.

My friends used it with their first baby and I can see no higher intellect with the child than any other child of the same age.

I did and My daughter loved the music. I think it helped but I think you realy have to find something your child is intrested in to focus thier attention on. If the child likes the character they will pay more attention and have a better chance of learning whats going on. Blues clues backyardigans seaseme street. They all help

I used the videos, and my kids loved them. They were the only thing that calmed down my colicy baby. They do not make your baby more intelligent, but they are stimulating and much better for your baby to watch than the other crap that is mass produced for kids.

I am not sure if it improved his intelligence. He was already smart(knew his ABC's and could count to 20 before age 2) but he really enjoyed the vivid colors, songs and characters.
