Target is NOT owned by the French. No, they do not let them ring the bells, but each store gives a donation to the local Salvation Army. If you let them ring their bells then every other non for profit organization would want to be able to come set up at the front of the store to ask for money or sell something. Do you want to shop somewhere that you can't walk in the front doors without someone asking you for $$$??? I could go on and on and tell you how much Target does for the community. I work at Target and I bet 2-3 times a month they ask people to volunteer to help with something in our community. Whew, ok....I am done rambling.

Good question! Wal Mart has monopolized the retail market considerably, and I realize many retailers cannot stay in busy or make a profit as long a the Wal Marts exist. As far as I'm concerned, every Sunday, one stop does it all! I always get my groceries there, pet supplies, and over the counter medication, and I like some of their clothes as well. If there is something I need that they don't have, or something special I am looking for, the Internet helps a great deal, and sometimes even the mall. I would say everything in life has its good points and bad points. I just feel that the Wal Mart employees should be treated fairly in benefits and pay as well.

Shopping at Target is much better than shopping at Wal Mart and here is why;
1. At Target the associates will help you out by just picking up the red phone while at Wal Mart you have to look all over the store for an associate to assist you.
2. Target is clean and well kept and the store is easy to get around while at Wal Mart, the store is not well kept and there is too much clutter around.
3. The parking lot at Target is easy to navigate and it is easy to remember where you parked while at Wal Mart, it is often difficult to find where you park since the parking lot is very crowded.
4. At Target, the store is not too full with customers if your are in a rush to find what you are looking for so you can get in and out in a certain amount of time while at Wal Mart, the store is Always Crowded All The Time and you always see customers going in but you never see customers going out.
5. The cashier service at Target is very quick, fast, and the cashiers are very helpful and have a wonderful greeting while at Wal Mart, the cashier service is often slow, crowded, and you have to wait a very long time without a proper greeting.

I try not to shop at either store. I have found a thrift store that carries everything I need that I could have gotten at WalMart or Target. Pet stuff, I get at the grocery store, the feedstore, or Petsmart. Otherwise I just go to the grocery store.
I used to like Target, but they have gotten way too expensive. Wal-Mart has just gotten too rude.
If I had to pick between the two, I'd go with Target.

Neither one. target sells cheap slave manufactured stuff at designer prices, and wal mart sells cheap slave manufactured stuff at low prices always and treats its employees badly. wal mart chooses not to offer its employees any health or dental plans, increasing demand for public health care, which will have to be paid for by everyone that is not wal mart. instead, you should shop at costco or some other place that does buisiness ethically.

Do you really think Target is any better? They are not getting publicity because they are smaller in the US. I am sure they are as bad or worse though.

Well I heard that Target was owned by china, I don't know that this has anymore truth to it then the french owned rumor. But I do know that Target sells more foreign made items than any other retailer. But to be honest I don't care for ether one of them.

I dont care which store claims to better or all that blah, blah, blah. The answer is plain and simple: Wallmart. And why? Because if Wallmart doesnt have it, you dont need it. And thats it.
