DOSE ANY ONE KNOW WHAT THE LIGHTING REQUIERMENTS ARE FOR TOWING A PASSENGER VEHICAL IN ILLINOIS WITH USEING A TOW DOLLY? THE DOLLY IT SELF HAS WORKING LIGHTS AND THE TOW VEHICAL HAS EMERGENCY LIGHTS. THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

You either need to connect the tail, stop, and turn signals of the vehicle in tow to the tow vehicle or get one of the extended light bars that mounts on the rear of the vehicle in tow.

The lights on the dolly are only for the dolly itself, as when you tow it without a car on it. They are not sufficient for the vehicle.

This is driven by the FMVSS and is universal throughout the country.

To get the quickest answer i would go to a local uhaul store.. they rent the crap they definately gotta know the laws for it... of course you could call your states DMV or the State Police but you probably be put on hold forever and a day...
