They believe that aliens live in your body.
It gets way weirder than that. Check out the wikipedia article.

Scientology is a cult. It is based on the writings of science fiction author, L. Ron Hubbard, who wrote "Dianetics."
A cult breaks away from a major religion and differs, greatly, with the original teachings.
Scientology appeals to people who are very intelligent or think they are intelligent. It is like a mental, ego trip. Supposedly, to raise your IQ, there are different tests which are given on electrical hookups. Each station costs at least a thousand dollars. These steps never end, and you could be paying thousands of dollars for the rest of your life. If you want to stop at a certain stage, you'll be shamed in a big way and made to feel as if you are weak and a loser.
It is amazing that such intelligent people will give theirs minds over to be controlled by others.
These people believe they know everything and are heads taller than other people. Often Tom Cruise has said that psychiatry Is a pseudo-science and has claimed to know more than any other psychiatrist in the world.
Movie stars, like Cruise and Travolta, are allowed to belong to Scientology, free-of-charge, because they give a lot of money and many people join due to knowing that these stars are members. It is worth millions of dollars to the cult of Scientology.

The basis of scientology is Lafayette Ronald Hubbard's over-active imagination and fascination with science fiction.
Scientologists believe that there are thetans that control our souls and that our past negative experiences affect how we will behave in the future so they get out these e-meters and an auditor finds the negative memory or experience and nukes it.

Well, they believe that making money from weak minded individuals is paramount, they believe that they are there are loads of little things inside everthing and that the more you can get on your side the better life and death will be to you. They also see the rise of Jediism as a slight against them, even though they ruined it for Jedis. L Ron Hubbard is dead now, the only problemis that he didn't take his daft little pseudo-cult with him. Don't trust them. They only want your money.

Ron Hubbard wrote bad Western novels, under the name of Remmington Winchester Colt or so. Then he changed to writing bad SF novels. When that didn't work, he thought up a religion especially tailored to pluck his victims. For that reason it has been outlawed in several countries.

They believe that aliens started the human race and that to live a happy life you have to purge yourself of unworthy thoughts and have people, who are more experienced members, to brainwash you to reach your maximum mental capabilities. Scientology had nothing to do with God or Christianity. Write to Thomas Cruise for more information.

They are like any other religious thing. Scientology is, no doubt, a religion, and because they believe so strongly in one thing, just like other religions, they think they are better. Every religion thinks it is better than the rest.

It started out with science fiction books written by L Ron Hubbard, I believe his name is. His friends suggested to him that he could make a religion out of them, he did

Based on fantasy. Crist, its inventor is a (lousy) science fiction writer.
Takes morons like Cruise to go for it and give them all his dough.
Obviously more profitable that writing science fiction, - start a cult based on weird ideas.
Already Barnum, of Barnum and Bailey (circus) said there is a sucker born every minute and 10 to take him. With the population increase since then, it's probably one a second! ;-)

It's a cult based on some third rate science-fiction novels.
That's pretty much it.
