My son is turning 2 today and I was just wondering how your child is doing developmentally. How many words, when did they start walking, talking, etc. Do they have any healthy problems?

My sister had preemie twins,a girl and a boy, about 8 wks early. By the time they were two, they could walk, and talk full sentences, not always easily understood, but the boy knew all the proper names for all the Thomas the Tank Engine characters, and the girl would stand in front of the mirror and say "I'm tute(cute)". I've read and seen documentaries, that for preemies, usually they're caught up developmentally by two-three years old, but size wise may take a little longer. My neice has acid reflux, and my nephew seems a little OCD about some things, they're going to be ten yrs.old.

I had 3 preemies. My first was 37 weeks on the nose and my second and third wee twins at 35 weeks. They told me my twins would always be one month behind for everything but it would even out byt eh 1st b-day and it has they are now 16 months old and doing fine the girl is not walking but talking and the boy is walking but not talking they tell me that since they were early I should worry about nothing and if she isn't walking by 18 m then we will worry. Now she is taking steps. My oldest was right on chart except a little small for his age, he just started kindergarden and is doing great and very smart there have been no delays. My twins have done everything they should have only a little later than a full term baby. They are happy and healthy babies and full of energy. Somethimes it all depends on how healthy the child was born mine were all early and small but healthy except for jaundice.
