Don't be so hard on yourself. Just make it a habit to pray when you wake up and when you go to sleep. Put a sticky note or something near your bed. Let Him be the first person you talk to when you wake and when you go to sleep. Try timing yourself in the beginning; like make it two minutes and then expand on it, that way you'll get in the habit. Pray the whole day, remember why we have such beautiful landscapes and nice people and thank Him for it. Start slowly and your bound to be praying the whole day. Good Luck!

Sounds like you have a very serious problem.
You are HUMAN!
I think we all have been there or are there, here is what I have done over the years that has helped.
1. Make a firm commitment to attend Church EVERY week, this keeps God more in your thoughts.
2. Do at least one good thing for someone every week that does NOT deserve it by our normal standards. This is in addition to the "normal" good acts.
3. Take time first thing in the morning and last thing at night to say a prayer, even if it is a quick one.
4. Associate with others of your faith in at least one volunteer activity.
This may sound like a lot, but take it one step at a time starting with #1.
Hope this helps,
God Bless you!

I have the same problem. I only pray when I absolutely have to. So, I stopped and prayed for God's help. What helps me the most is an old hymn, I heard. It says I need thee every hour. This reminds me that I will always be in need and so I need to pray. What I would do to get a closer relationship with God-read the Bible-God's communication to you. God wants you to rely on Him for all your needs both large and small. So start with the small things and pretty soon you will be closer to God.

I dealt with this comparable subject whilst i replaced right into a Christian. I instructed human beings that i replaced right into a Christian by using fact i presumed that's what i replaced into meant to do, yet faith is an extremely own subject remember so there is rather no might desire to share with each and every guy or woman you meet. i don't pass around telling unquestionably everyone I meet that i'm an atheist, besides right here on Yahoo solutions. :)

Help me, my Jesus, to carry my cross with joy, ever keeping my eyes on the Father's Will. Grant that I may not waste time deciding which cross comes from You and which comes from my neighbor. Let me accept all from You, realizing that some crosses correct me, some release me, some prevent me from a life of sin, others are redemptive, and still others lead to repentance.
May our cross be one cross, dear Jesus, that together we may glorify the Father and save souls.
This dryness of soul is something I must work with and not against. Help me to realize that when I feel Your Presence You are consoling me, but when I do not feel that Presence and I continue a life of love and virtue, I am consoling You.
Teach me to prefer consoling You to being consoled, and give me the light to exercise my Faith when all seems dark.
I want to rise above the demands of my emotions and have the courage to live in spirit and truth. Grant me the Faith that is always aware of the invisible reality, the Hope that trusts in Your promises, and the Love that seeks not itself.
I hope this helps you

Obviously you are closer to your father than you know. That is conviction of love that is telling you that you need a more constant relationship with God. The way to get closer it to read the instruction book (bible) daily, attend worship service and talk to him every morning and at night. If you think about it you have more to talk about than your wants. Thank him for waking you up today, sending his son to die for our sins, the food you eat, the special people in your life and anything else you may have in this world. He gave it all to you remember? I would love to share more with you E Mail me tyrutledge@sbcglobal.net

Your faith is misplaced...When you are in need or want that's when it's time to start considering action for others that are in similar positions. Volunteer for some cause near your heart...Pick up a pen and paper write your representatives about issues you believe need to be addressed...Donate a few $$$ to SECULAR causes. Place some of your faith back where it belongs in HUMANITY by taking positive action and helping others to help yourself. PEACE!

Surround yourself with people of strong faith. Just make yourself go to service and study your bible. You find that if you study rather than just read the more you learn about God the more you will want to learn. Start of slowly and work your way up. Hope this helps. You can e-mail me if you like.

Dear Mosdefash: He loves YOU enough - to give to you - when you are frightened, fearful, or have anxiety. Do not be concerned . His love is absolute and steadfast. Unshake-able!
The deeper issues here are that He is not REAL enough to you. He is not ALIVE to you. On your side, the Relationship is not yet truly made.
On His side, you are His Child - He knows He is your Breath. He knows you cannot see Him through human eyes and He knows you no longer know Him - for the Journey inside of Time has been long and hard. In Separation, we have been "away" for so long. . ..
We do not forget anyone or anything that is vital to us. When we think we do not much need them - we tend to forget them - off and on.
Now, what will bring Him back to you - from your Memory? What will remind you of that exquisite Relationship you had with Him when He was your All? Is the memory or thought of Him lost forever? No! It is so easily restored to your Mind. If you have truly never heard the Holy Spirit whisper thoughts to you - inside your mind - or, you have never heard the voice of Jesus explain something to you - inside your head - how can you expect to have feeling for your God?
The Holy Spirit is called the Voice for God. He lives in our minds as a Guide and Comforter and as our higher self, our higher thoughts, our Conscience. His Voice is tone-less; you may hear Him as your own thoughts - in your own voice - when your thoughts are lifted to a higher plane of thinking.
Your belief is not weak Mosdefash - You simply have not yet found your connection to Him.
I will intercede to Jesus, now, that you be Guided to what you specially need - that they may reveal Themselves to you.
Then. . . a feeling of Them with you - is easy!
