No, not even close... Too many Registered Sex Offenders simply do not belong there. The Registry includes Teenagers who had sex with their consent but younger (by 2 or 3 years) girlfriend. Persons convicted because their spouse abused their child and they didn't stop it (often times they didn't even realize what was happening). Persons convicted of urinating in public (most of the time
nobody even witnessed the urination). The list of silly Sex Crimes is long and amusing (unless you've been caught up in it).

Yes there are allot of people on the sex offenders list who might not belong there but am thankful for it because if there was no registry then sex child rapist would just continue with their sick and demented ways

Why do you ask a question and then answer it yourself? It is almost as if you were defending yourself against the stigma of sex offender. Regardless, there are different kinds of sex offenders..and they don't always target (boys or girls) children! Some sex offenders target young women, middle aged women or the elderly. They have no preference as long as they can satisfy their sexual urges. These are violent crimes! and require nothing short of castration as punishment! Just one more thing, how is it that if nobody witnessed this "so-called public urination; that he or she is in the registry of sex offenders?

Usually the State Police are the ones responsible for keeping Sex Offender registrys in each state. Check with yours and they will give you a list of what qualifies a person to have to be listed in your state as a Sex Offender.

Not only are you on a national register, but you are not allowed to work with children in anyway. So no coaching little league, teaching school, or working as Santa. The thing about spouses not knowing it is going on- many women choose the mate over the child. It is a sad fact, but some women are so despite for love they will do anything even allow these men to have sex with their children. They need to be on a register and in jail. To the teens having sex- stop doing it! It will follow you forever, so is it that important to have sex with your high school girl friend who is underage?

From what I know (which is not a whole lot) is that the charges are also posted like "public exposure" or "sexual abuse with a minor". There is another "lewd and lacivious acts with a minor" that could be anything from touching to showing a minor porn. It's pretty broad.

No not all sex offenders are rapists. A lot of the time they just handle the children in inappropriate ways. Not that that's any better.

they probably are not all rapist, but at sometime they did break the law. whether you agree with the law or not is irrelevent. I would keep my child away from a sex offender. Why take the chance?

I agree. People assume sex offender means sexual predator. Sex offender is too broad. There should be a Sexual Predator list for people who rape people & molest children.

Some are there because they deserve it and others don't. But reality is whatever helps me take good care of my kids is ok with me.
