whoever you like best
I don't know how long you have been training yourself. But I've been at it for years. I have had various instructors and learnt a lot from each one of them. But the best ones are the ones that you can share your vision of aikido with. you'll understand each other better thus you will learn more easily this way. But my belief has always been to try to get various instructors. seeing different styles and approaches to aikido will help you develop your own style in time!!!
If you do get the chance to follow a lesson taught by some high ranking Japanese or other instructors DO IT!!!
i have visited manier sessions taught by men such as Sugano Tamura Christian Tissier etc. and have always been amazed at these peoples abilities. (with any luck they'll pick you as uke and you can experience this for yourself)

Aikido is a Martial Art created by Morihei Ueshiba (O Sensei). O Sensei died in 1969 and his son ,Kisshomaru Ueshiba, was inaugurated as Aikido Doshu (leader). Kisshomaru Ueshiba died in 2000 and the current head of the art is Moriteru Ueshiba, grandson of the Founder.
Moriteru Ueshiba would be the guy on top. I'm sure there are alot of great teachers out there. At some point, everyone practicing can trace their teachers back to O Sensei..

What is Aikido?
Aikido is a Japanese art of self-defense. It utilizes joint locks, immobilizations and throws rather than strikes. The goal of Aikido is not to stop the attacker’s energy, but to use the attacker’s energy against him to neutralize the attack without harming the attacker. Because of its nature aikido can allow a very small person to defend themselves against a much larger attacker.

That would be a judgement call.

Moreihi Ueshiba invented Aikido in the 1920’s. Mr. Ueshiba was an instructor of an older Japanese martial art called Aikijitsu. He modified the Aikijitsu techniques to make them easier for everyone to practice. Because of his contributions to Aikido, Mr. Ueshiba was awarded the “National Living Treasure” award by the Japanese government in the 1960’s.
