It's because their faith is weak. No-one would need to feel that way if they were secure and confident in what they believed.

It's unfortunate how a person's poor reaction can reflect badly on the religion/faith/ideal they believe in.

I have found both the religious and not religious have become angry when deep or questioning dialogue comes up, so here's what I keep in mind and I'd like for you to consider - one person won't necessarily represent the religion/faith/ideal in the best way. In a sense, people stereotype in assuming that specific person speaks for the entire concept, which just isn't true.

If you're looking to have a good discussion about spirituality (or anything for that matter), talk to more than one person in the religion/faith/ideal. That will help you get a better sense of the belief, answer your questions or assumptions, and hopefully talk to a person with the patience and maturity to have the conversation without getting offended.

Because they have the mindset that "No one DARE question God! To question him or Jesus is to be a heretic and blasphemous! The Bible is the Word of God. The End. No Questions about it!"

Come on... don't you think people have a right to question a boook that has been altered, changed, and manipulated over the years? And a book that contains stories of talking donkeys, snakes, bushes, angels...and cramming thousands of species of animals on one boat... and turning into pillars of salt.. that all the languages of the world came from a tower... etc.

Not only that, the bible is STILL a book written by man, not God. ANYONE has a right (and a reason) to question Christianity.

Anyone not able to accept criticism should not ask for opinions in the first place. Do not try to impress others with your religion, if you are not prepared for the questions, comments, and disagreements that will follow.

Honestly... when it comes to that, no one group or organization is any better than anyone else. They ALL do it.

I used to believe that the atheists were the more rational and intelligent of the bunch before I came here and witnessed it for myself how they use means that are just as belligerant and insulting and intolerant as the religious...

It is just a bunch of people trying to use any excuse they can find to be right... and therefore better than everyone else. It is human nature to be both difficult and contradictory, it is how we learn.

To the christians and the religious... Follow your own creed
and to the atheists... Just EVOLVE already!

both are idiots in their best and worst moments!
and I am no better for calling you all idiots so...

The way I justify it all is this; The religious love God and God loves them. The atheists do not love God or those who believe in Him, but He loves them anyway... As for me, I am learning to love in general. As we all are...

Because they look at their religion as something very close to them and maybe not to someone else. Its like when siblings can talk crap on eachother but if someone else comes up and says the same thing then they go off..... you see?
