"Church History: A history of the Catholic Church to 1940" by Fr. John Laux is for upper high school, college, and adults.

Seton Catholic correspondence school uses "Christ and the Americas" and "Christ the King, Lord of History" by Carroll for their high school history books.

Our Lady of Victory correspondence school uses "Our Pioneers and Patriots" for 7th, "Old World and America" for 8th, "Story of the Church" for 9th, and so on.

See Seton and OVLS for more descriptions. :-)

--Is Catholic--

I was going to give the same info as LadyE above. They are very good and useful suggestions.

In addition, I would recomend Warren Carroll's "History of Christendom" series in addition as a resourse book for the teacher (or as a reference book). It is easy enough for upper level high school, but it is also packed with refs. that a teacher and more scholarly reader would find use with.
