I was with this guy for almost 4 years we lived together for a few months until I came home early from vacation and saw him in the bed with another girl. He lied about it formonths after. He is still my brothers best friend. So i hear about him a lot. It's been a year since. I have moved out and gotten my own place. I think Im still bitter about it, and I am afraid of never being able to love someone again for the fear of being hurt. How do you release that type of feeling? I dont think I can ever forgive him, could you?

I heard this silly rule somewhere:
I takes half the total amount of time you were with someone to move on from them.

IF....
there are no interferences.
and you never really are in contact with them.

However, from your unique situation it seems this rule may not apply to you.

No one can tell you exactly how to release that feeling, if you even can... but think about how many people are in teh world. Six billion. That is just today. The world has been moving much longer than that. Somewhere and some point somebody probably went through the same thing as you.... all you can do is try to move on.

As difficult as that sounds... theres nothign else you can do.

Theres no excuse for what he did and if you forgive him, nothign will change and men will continue to do this. Let this be the beginning. Let this be a lesson to all men in the future...

That sucks that your brother would still talk to him after that. Geez I empathize. Best you can do is find comfort in your hatred for him, never ever be nice to him. Don't listen to other people and the forgive and forget $*@t. Go on with your life but hate him, I don't know your circumstance but I'd hate my brother a little too. or maybe just treat him coldly. And when people bring up your X's name to you. Say "I don't wanna hear his name or what he' doing!!! What kind of sick are you that you'd think that?" Get mad. In future relationships don't trust , men are pigs, watch 'em like a hawk. I reccomend Sherry Argrov's book, Why Men Love Bitches.

no id never forgive him but i would be civil and not act bothered that way he will think u are over it and that will bother him if yous are in the same circle he prob hears u are still bothered about so let him hear your not and see how he reacts

also you shouldnt waste your time being bitter as he is not worth it u can do better and deserve better than that treatment

Time is a great healer ... Just get out with your friends, have a good time, drink a little, find a few guys for one night stands maybe, then eventually you'll feel good enough to go hunting for another long term partner

The best way to get over a man is to get under another one

What he did was absolutely awful. What a slime ball. Don't let him win. Go one with your life, try and learn to trust again. You will meet someone much, much better. Good luck to you.
