Every morning I wake up, I pray, I read the bible and I askGod to use me mighily to serve him every day.

But I am not a famous preacher or muscician, I do ordinary every day things and I want to make a difference in peoples life and not be a casual christian, what are ways that I can really help people?

I dont always see the big picture only God can, however I am serving Him and want to do his will. Have any of you ever had this question cross your mind?

Keep on doing as you are doing my friend...

Pray every day... Read the word everyday... Seek the Lord everyday: Fellowship & mix with likeminded people.

You don’t have to be a famous preacher: prophet: healer: missionary: musician: etc, to do Gods work: or His will!!

You will be amazed how just ‘Ordinary’ everyday things & events can be used by God to bless those who are around you… Silly little things like saying ‘Please’ or ‘Thank you’ … holding the door open for someone … making a brew for a neighbour… popping round to see a neighbour… Greeting someone with a smile, & a friendly face … being an ear to listen… a shoulder to cry on … a friend in prayer… a kind word of comfort …… These are every day good manners: and acts of being a friend: not earth shattering, earth moving ministries, but can make the world of difference to a believer & non-believer alike!!!

As you say… as you are not ‘God’: you do not see the ‘Big Picture’… nor do you see always, what affect the ‘Ordinary’ everyday, maybe even mundane things you say or do, have on the lives of those around you… for example… your question has seriously blessed me!! See?

My sister in Jesus… Stay faithful, honest, & true in the ‘Little things’… & more, & more our father will trust you in the bigger things!! You sound to have a heart to serve God: and to do His will… Just have faith & believe… God will use you more & more in Jesus name… Amen!!

Proverbs 3: 5-6
Matthew 6:33

God bless you.

That's funny - I ask myself that a lot. As Christians, we're supposed to be "evangelists" (which basically means someone who takes every opportunity to spread the Word of God). I'm not an assertive person, so I don't see myself as shouting out the Word of the Lord in public. I have some musical talents, but I'm afraid everyone would run away from the church as quick as possible if I tried to sing with the Praise and Worship team. I have given testimony for a healing that I received - that gave others hope and inspiration. I also help with the church youth group. Look at your strengths. What are you good at? Where are you most needed in your church or community? God gave us all different talents, skills, and abilities. Put yours to good use. Start small. You don't have to open a missionary in Iraq in order to serve God.

For a long time Daniel did not do anything "big" but he did make an impact and people saw through his kindness and being respectful that the Lord was truly with him. You can't expect to have all the answers, or perhaps, do miraculous things, but we can all be an example of how truly gracious and merciful, and loving God really is. You living a righteous life and living, as close as you can, how Jesus lived, in this day and age that is miraculous. Keep up the faith and don't let these folks (the world) make your faith weak, stay strong and the Lord will guide you where he wants you!!

Sometimes we think that we are not accomplishing anything for God. We see things on such a large scale and don't see what He sees. For instance...someone is watching. The way you live the decisions you make, the sacrifices, the love you give etc... You don't know they are watching or that you are making such a huge impact on their spiritual decisions, but you are. Be patient. Perhaps you are doing exactly what God wants from you right now at this very moment. Perhaps He is still preparing you and you don't recognize it? All you need to do...is trust in Him and let Him guide your steps. Be careful not to force it. Many times we are so anxious and have no patience. God's time precious one. Just remember that He has everything under control.
Be at peace.

You are doing something very beneficial by daily Bible reading and prayer. That is definitely the first step to pleasing God. It is important for us to take the time to try to learn what God's will is, and you really seem to have that desire, which is very commendable.

I am not a famous preacher either, but I do strive to benefit others by teaching them, from the Bible, how they can improve thier lives. There is no greater joy than this. I hope you will take the time to look at the following article. I think you will find it interesting.

Just by being kind and loving in your everyday life and not compromising your morals for anyone you make a very powerful statement for God. Keep praying and asking for God's holy spirit to help you to understand what he wants you to do and try to read at least a few scriptures in the Bible every day. Spend the rest of the day considering carefully what you have read and how it applies to you.

You are on the right track. Have you ever thought about leaving tracts around stores and when you mail out something stick in a tract. You would be surprised at how many people read these tracts and come to know Jesus. You may never know what good you have done for the Lord till you get to Heaven. But just think about, when you get there, someone you did not know on this earth walks up to you a says: "Thanks for leaving the tracts in line 7 of Wal-Mart, if it had not been for that tract I would not be here today" You may get more rewards then you think.

Well, you might not know that you might actually be changing someones life. Somethings we might not know at the time or never know. We just have to trust God that he knows what he is doing with us.

It's a great prayer request, saying that you want to be used for him. I have asked that same request and I believe God is answering me. Like one time I made a poem and sent it to some of my friends, and one of my friends said it really encouraged her. It's nothing big, but God still used me because I was willing.

He gives us many opportunities to serve him, and we just need to be willing to do them and see them. I guess I am a casual Christian, as you call it, but I know that God has a purpose for everyone who wants to be used. In 1 Corinthians somewhere it talks about how God chooses to let us be co-workers with him. Isn't that amazing that we can actually be working with God.

Also in a youth group yesterday the guy speakings said that we should be like Samuel, saying, "Speak Lord for you servant is listening!" We need to have the attitude that we are here to do God's will and not our own wills. God has the perfect will for us, even if it might not seem like it at the time. God Bless!

It sounds like you have an expectation of what it would look like to be used by God. Do you know what I think the hardest thing is? To do exactly as you describe, get up day after day, go out into the world, and show people the love of Jesus Christ without ever expecting any return or credit for it.

A person who has wholly given their life to Jesus, as you seem to want to do....will allow God to "use" them in whatever way He wishes to. Often times, this means you become the servant of all....being kind, loving, patient, forgiving, compassionate, merciful, day after day after day...never getting recognition for it, and all glory going to Jesus Christ.

Being famous brings attention to you. Being a true servant gives all the glory to Him. Don't look for the results that you think should be there, trust that God hears your humble prayer and is using you, exactly as He wants!

It is hard to believe we are serving God and doing His Will when we do little things but that is the way God uses us. The everyday little things that we do for people can open up all kind of doors if we will watch for them. So when you think you don't see results just remember you are not to be doing them so you can see results but just to be helping. God sees the results. Isn't that enough?
