If you don't know anything, it'd probably be better not to say anything, people.
Mormons are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Rather than going to an anti-Mormon site, I'd suggest those I list below, at least if you want to know what Mormons actually believe.
Before anyone gets on me for suggesting this, look at it this way, should I go to someone who hates Christianity to learn about it? you'd say I was stupid to do so.
Mormons live all across the world. They have a firm faith in the sacrifice of Jesus. They believe that God didn't reserve his revelations to his children to just one place, that he spoke to his children all over the world, and they wrote down his dealings with them. they believe in being good and honest.
Their membership includes people from all walks of life, including noted scientists, doctors, politicians, businessmen, and so on.
We're not just some psycho cult, we're legit and we really don't like it when people say things about us that simply aren't true.

Mormonism is a religion, movement, ideology, and subculture that originated in the early 1800s as a product of the Latter Day Saint movement led principally by Joseph Smith, Jr.

It is self-described as a form of Christian Restorationism, and it encompasses numerous religious denominations. Not easily categorized, Mormonism is generally understood as much more than a religion.

The faith has been described at various times and in various contexts as "a sect, a mystery cult, a new religion, a church, a people, a nation, or an American subculture"

They are very friendly people. I used to visit a Mormon Church, they did not try too hard to turn me into one of them. It was a nice experience. I do go to different churches for the experience even if I do not believe in their "Mission." I like to study different denominations. I can tell you the young women who are beating the streets to spread Mormanism knew less about the church than I did. Seems like they are slowly introduced into the inner goings on of the church-left in the dark until they are adults. Slowly spoon feeding them so that they do not buck the system....

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (aka Mormon) and would defend my church and beliefs to anyone. You can find people that have made mistakes in the church but as for our doctrine or the divine inspiration of our church it is pure and flawless. Our core beliefs are:
God is our Heavenly Father. He loves us and wants us to return to Him.
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is our Savior. He redeems us from death by providing the Resurrection. He saves us from sin as we repent.
Through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, we can return to live with God if we keep His commandments.
The Holy Ghost helps us to recognize truth.
The first principles and ordinances of the gospel are faith in Jesus Christ, repentance, baptism, and receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost.
The Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth.
The priesthood authority of God exists in His Church today, just as it did in the original Church.
The Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God.
God reveals His will to prophets today, just as He did anciently.
Our life has a sacred purpose.
Families can be together forever.
Through serving others, we can experience joy and draw closer to God.

Quite a bit, because I am one :)

I've seen lots of links to some hateful sites here, let me balance that out by giving a link with the most accurate information; the official church website: www.lds.org

Best Wishes.

Don't listen to the anti-Mormons, they don't know what they are talking about. They like to misrepresent our beliefs. To get accurate information about what we believe go to this site: http://www.mormon.org

The Joseph Smith lied and stole and cheated.

Mormonism is a "tiered" religion and what they tell you when you join is different than what they tell you if you are "on a higher priesthood level." Weird - considering this verse in the Bible:

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." (2Pet. 1:20)

Also, their idea of the trinity is polythiest. A really bad cult.

I know they killed a bunch of locusts and saved their crops in the 1800's. Now I call the BYU football team the "Cricket Stompers"
