We should respect all religions equally, and pastafarianism is a belief system with a well-founded basis as much as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism etc are.
If your son has chosen to follow the Flying Spaghetti Monster he has done so because he has seen the light. It is wrong for you to try and convert him from this path. This is mere arrogance, and intolerance.
Who are you to say the universe was not created by some pasta and meatballs. It makes sense to me!

The only problem with your theory is that God has personally contacted ME and told me that there are NO OTHER GODS.
He has also stated that while there are other "god-like" beings in heaven and other heavens, HE is Elohim and GOD of them all.
I do understand how your Flying Spaghetti Monster theory sounds just as true as the REAL GOD to someone who has not been touched by God. It is obviously only an exercise in debate and it has failed despite how fun it is. I also understand the intensity with which Atheists and Agnostics try to disprove the existence of God. Doing so will vindicate their selfish sins and alleviate their guilt. I quote no scripture as I know it is meaningless to those who don't believe and would not waste it on you.
I personally advocate universal love and peace with all, pagans, wiccans, catholics, Christians, Jews, Mormons, (not Islam as they are hell bent on destroying everyone else) Buddhists, Atheists, Agnostics, etc. etc. ad nausium.
If you are offended by pushy Spiritualists then stop pushing back and you will find they will go away.

Great point. There is just as much evidence of the FSM as there is of the Christian God. Why would Christians call this ridiculous when their religion was formed in the same way?

The ancient Greeks believed their gods lived on the top of Mt Olympus. Their gods loved, hated, ate food, drank wine and engaged in most other human-like activities.
Hercules was the son of a god and a mortal woman. He was killed by men and went to heaven to be with his god-father. Does this sound like JC?
Seems to me that the basis of most religions sound preposterous when you examine them closely. FSM doesn't seem any more or less believable than the others.

I would be a hypocrite for spreading the propaganda, and then debunking it. But, we all know it is a bit of three dimensional sarcasm. Funny, and profound in it's purpose. But, in the end, it's just as false as the stories in the bible of talking donkeys and virgin births.
All hail the FSM, may his meatballs bless all, ramen.

That depends... is he killing off all of us who believe in the purple unicorns that come from the moon? Or is his belief just something that he states as a truth in his life, yet leaves the rest of us out of it? if he's just stating it as his personal belief, I wouldn't care if he believed in it. If he's killing off other people simply because they don't believe... or discriminating to the point that other people couldn't obtain a job, etc... then the "nonsense" would have to stop.

your basis makes sense.. tho the whole point woudl make more sense if it were founded on something a little more realistic sucha as a true human figure.. which i beleive is the whoel reason god and jesus adn the bible caught on.. lol... but to answer your question.... i personally would not try to correct your son. as i believe everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.... but i sure would think he has a silly frame of mind!..lol

Don't worry it won't catch on, people aren't morons. You don't see churches filled with people dancing and around and handling rattlesnakes do you? No, because only a small group of people believe that is religious...for some reason.
