Wish I could help you more. I highly suggest seeking the advice of a lawyer. I know the laws vary from state to state. Call around and see where you can get some free advice. Good Luck.

my partner as been in the same situation as your husbands ex wife but not by choice he had not seen his son for 7 years because he didn't,t know were he was. then when he found out were he was he went to a solicitor and because his mother wouldn't,t stick to the contact rules the courts got fed up of her and now we have full custody of him. so you both need to be care-full how you go about it. At the end of the day it,s what the children want as well.

relies upon on the state on the time reduce some are 6 months some you would possibly want to attend a twelve months. verify with your state guidelines. Bio or no longer this guy raised this newborn for 6 years (truly followed him) and courts will want him for that. i ought to get a criminal specialist confer with him/her about possibilities of adoption and submitting for abandonment.

ummm yeah 4 years,i do beleive there is something that can be done..contact the local child support agency and find out what you can do,it varies from state to state.personally i would not let her see the kids, obviously she really don't care,or she would have been around!

I don't think that qualifies. Child abandonment means that they left the children alone and like went off and left them home alone...kind of like the couple several years ago that went on vacation in Mexico and left their 2 young daughters home alone. Unless she gave up her rights to her children and you were to adopt them she is still considered their mother. If you ARE willing to adopt you and your husband can always take her to court to have her rights terminated so you can do so.
