With milk, much like anything else, there is such a thing as "too much of a good thing". Controversial laboratory findings have linked milk consumption to vitamin and mineral deficiencies, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, ovarian cancer, and other health ills. One very recent study, published in the Dermatology Online Journal, suggests a possible link between milk consumption and teenage acne.
All of these studies need to be evaluated carefully - the scientific method demands that laboratory results be "replicable" - meaning that another scientist, in another lab, following the same procedures can reliably reproduce similar results. None of these links are certain or proven, but further research will continue to contribute to nutritionists' better understanding of the links between dairy consumption and health. It is worth noting that milk consumption has also been linked in other research to a number of positive outcomes - weight loss, lower risk of colorectal cancers, and, lower risk of osteoporosis.
Moderation is always a good policy. Whether it's chocolate, sex, video games or milk, it's better to vary your consumption, and keep a healthy balance. Even the most benign substances, like water, have health consequences when you over-consume.

I have studied health and nutrition for many years and most herbalists agree that pasturized milk is not good for you at all. The calcium in the milk is cooked so all it can do is deposit at your joints and give you arthritis later in life. Some new information I have come across is in the book The Beverly Hills Diet by Judy Mazel. She claims that we lose the ability to digest milk properly at approx. age 4 and that drinking it after that just means that it turns to fat and stops other foods from properly digesting so that they turn to fat also. I am not sure if she is right but I am losing 1 pound every day on her diet so I guess she could be.

At the very least 8oz a day, as for too much well your body will tell you if you drank too much! Try skim or fat free, then you do not have to worry about packing on the pounds, and once you get used to it you will be able to taste the fat in other milks.
Milk is also a stress reducer, so drink up if you are stressed!
