Just because he went to Africa doesn't mean that he has contracted any disease. I think it is safe to say that your child is in no danger.. Most diseases are transmitted sexually. I think you are a good parent to be concerned, no matter who it is.. Bravo for you.

Im African and was out of the continent a few months ago and when I got back home everyone stayed clear of me (doesnt make sense does it?). As long ur bro doesnt have a contagious infection, why do u have to have to put Africa down? Maybe your family members shouldnt travel to this great continent again so that you all dont have to stay clear of each other each time. Thank you.

The biggest danger of being abroad in areas like this are parasites! And parasitic infections are often passed over by US doctors. I don't know what to tell you, but I would not want to eat after him without a serious washing of utensils, etc. until a couple of months "quarantine."

I would assume that your brother would take the necessary precautions if he felt he was at risk. However, if you think your brother in-law has been exposed to any infectious disease, then I can understand your concern.

I guess you'll have to ask him.

no...mostly all people coming from Africa...have to go through extensive test before coming to the US...so I don't think you have anything to worry about!
