It seems to me like the majority of athists are men, which sucks for us. Religious differences in relationships can be a major problem down the road, but it seems hard to find any single atheist ladies. Anyone have any thoughts on why this might or might not be?
While I'm on the subject, any freshmen, sophomores, or juniors going to Virginia Tech fit that description? Hit me up lol

there are some atheist and agnostic women...but I would agree that there are more men than women....my thoughts on the reason....women are more emotional....men are more mental or intellectual (in general)....religious beliefs are pretty much emotional, i.e. faith....faith is based on emotions not intellect

I am a taken atheist woman, and no offense to women but men usually have an easier time with science and logic. Women seem to lead more with emotion, and I think that they seem to have more of a need for security and control. I guess the idea of "god" offers this to them.

I am a woman, and an atheist, but sorry--not college age! Maybe it seems that there are fewer women atheists because we're just less vocal about it than men, and because people just assume we're "nice Christian women". But I'm sure there are many enlightened younger women as well, and I hope you hear from some of them soon.

I don't think there is that much more of a difference in the amount of men atheists vs women atheist. Seems pretty close to me.

Not if you live in the southern states. If you do then I suggest moving to a more progressive area such as New York or San Francisco. The south needs to be eradicated of all human life!

I'm an Agnostic, is that close enough? *lol* Got a boyfriend (who is an Athiest) though, sorry. I've got a few friends who are Athiest chicks, though.

I think the reason more guys are athiests is because more guys are scientists,and scientists tend to be athiest.
