If it was me, I'd go for some surf and turf, and it can be really easy. Get a good steak (Ribeye or New York Strip is best, but if you can't afford that, go with Chuck or Sirloin). For a cheaper cut, season with garlic, black pepper, and seasoned salt, For a good cut, just a little salt and pepper. Grill the steak on a hot grill so it sears it nice and seals in the juices. If you don't have a grill, brush the steaks with a little olive oil and cook them in a non-stick frying pan that is hot when you put them in. It is important to do this so you seal in the juices of the meat. For the surf part, go with some good fried shrimp or fish, whatever you like or whatever is available. The shrimp is easy. Just buy the frozen ones and pop them in the deep fryer. For sides, Chop some mushrooms, onion, and a little garlic and sautee in butter to put on top of the steak. A baked potato or French fries, and some good steamed veggies top it off. Some good garlic bread and a good cold beer would be a great extra as well. The rest of the ambiance is up to you, depending on how much eating you guys actually want to do, and how much extracurricular. Have fun.

Lasangne is dead easyy and takes no time at all, bowl of salad and a garlic bread and there is a great looking meal, plus all instructions are on the pasta/ sauce pakets if you are not brave enough to make from scratch!
Infact any sort of pasta dish would be great, e.g. canelloni
Chicken is great too, take a chicken breast and make a slit in the side and stuff it, you can be as adventurous as you want here, fill with bacon and mozeralla or mushrooms and garlic butter or anything really, peppers and red pesto? serve with whatever you fancy veg wise or even chips if he is a chip man.
You could go mexican for a fun time, make a bowl of chillie (dead simple) and get some pitta breads nachos, salsa, sour cream, guacamole and have a great time. Or tacos. Same with fajitas, get some wraps, stir fry some veg and meat in a spicy sauce(can get the packs already made up) and salad, cheese etc, all laid on table and you can build your meal!!
Have fun

Asda do ready to cook meals which look good and are easy to put together. Otherwise, you could buy a bag of microwaveable rice, some raw chicken and a stir fry mix of vegetables. Buy an oriental sauce to go over it.
Heat a little bit of oil in a pan or wok and slice the raw chicken and toss it in. Cook for about 3 minutes, then add the vegetables. Fry for a further 2 minutes then add the sauce for 1-2 minutes.
Microwave the rice and split it evenly between 2 plates. Make a dip in the centre and dish out half the stir fry mixture onto each plate and top off with a sprig of parsely. Serve with white wine. Perfect!

Steak & Spinach Roll-Up Roast
Serves 4
Serve a salad with this delicious meat & veggie combo and you've got one of the easiest meals ever.
8 slices bacon
1 to 1 1/2-pound beef flank steak
3/4 tsp lemon-pepper seasoning
1/4 tsp salt
1 10-oz package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well drained
2 Tbsp fine dry bread crumbs
1/2 tsp dried thyme, crushed
Dash salt
Pre-heat oven to 375F.
ln a large skillet cook bacon over medium heat for a few minutes just until brown but not crisp. Remove from skillet; drain on paper towels. Set aside.
Score both sides of steak by making shallow diagonal cuts at 1-inch intervals in a diamond pattern. Place steak between two pieces of plastic wrap or waxed paper. With a meat mallet pound steak into a roughly 12x8-inch rectangle. Remove plastic wrap (duuh) and sprinkle with 1/2 tsp of the lemon-pepper seasoning and the 1/4 tsp salt. Arrange bacon lengthwise on steak.
For the stuffing combine spinach, bread crumbs, thyme, the remaining l/4 tsp lemon-pepper seasoning, and the dash salt. Spread over bacon.
Starting from a short side, roll up the steak and secure with cooking twine. Roast for about 12 minutes for medium doneness, more or less to taste.

I read an article on the net once that pasta is the best dish to cook for a man. Try using fresh pasta, tesco has all the sauces and pasta that you will need, so if you not a a very good cook this is extremely simple to make. Combine this with some salad and fresh bread. For pudding just have some tiramisu or ice cream. Make sure you have a good wine.

A nice pasta with ham and broccolli in a white wine and cream sauce. Trust me you can't go wrong, it's dirt cheap, you'll have 3/4 of a bottle of white wine to help you through and the broccolli always stands out (especially if steamedand added at the last minute) and makes the dish look classy. Get fresh pasta, though, the dried stuff is awful.
Have fun!

1 1/2lbLinguine
2cupHeavy cream
4ozSoftened butter
3tblFresh parsley, chopped
White pepper, to taste
Salt, to taste
2tblChives, for garnish.
8tblGrand Marnier liquor
# This recipe was found among a box full of handwriten recipies that were in the atic. There was not a clue as to it's origin. However, after kitchen testing, this jewel has been placed in the gourmet section. Gooood, goood, gooood!!!!!
# Shell, butterfly and devaine 2 pounds of 16-20 to pound shrimp (jumbo's).
# Place 2 tbsp salt and 4 quarts of water in a large saucepa and bring to a gental boil. Add shrimp and boil for only 2 minutes. Remove shrimp from water. In the same water, add linguine and cook to the "al dente" (to the trooth) stage. For dry packaged pasta this should be about 5 to 6 minutes.
# Drain and add 4 tbsp of butter to coat pasta to prevent it from sticking together. Set over hot water to retain heat.
# Add 2 cups heavy cream to a skillet and stirring constantly, bring to a boil. Add white pepper, 8 tbsp Grand Marnier Liqueur, 4 tbsp butter.
# Continue to stir until mixture thickens to a sauce stage.
# Place linguine in center of serving dish ringed with 6 to 8 shrimp. Spoon thickened sauce around outside of plate, covering shrimp. Garnish with chives placed in center of linguine.
# Served with buttered and toasted thick sourdough garlic bread and Golden Chablis wine, this is a menu worthy of presenting to someone very special.

Steaks are always great. I would grill them and serve with grilled asparagus and here's a real time saver. Go to the grocery store and buy a package of those 60/90 second microwaveable pouches of rice. My favorite kind is by Zatarains, it's the "Yellow Rice" flavor. All you do is microwave for 60 seconds and then dump it into a serving bowl. Don't forget the wine!
