members of freecycle, and there are freecycles in almost all towns or areas now, post things they are givign away for free, others post what they are needing..i gave away some great bunkbeds last year, my son wanted a bigger bed.

Well, most places have a goodwill or something. If you drive around residential areas around the first of the month you'll find unbelievable things on the curb people who are moving can't take. So how tight is your money?

Try the flea market. You can ALWAYS find something at very reasonable (we're talking cheap cheap cheap) prices, and most won't even need more than a coat of paint (which comes in pint sizes now a days which is also very reasonably priced). Congratulations on your new home!
