Like Kevin, I'm also in recovery. I do know that it's not the age at which you strat drinking it's the reason why you're drinking, and how often. Seek a local recovery building for more detailed info that's close to home.

Do you mean drinking early, as in early in the morning, or do you mean early, as in early in life (like, say, as a teenager)? Teenagers are more prone to becoming alcoholics if they start drinking because of the effect alcohol has on a body that isn't fully developed. Drinking in the morning doesn't necessarily make you an alcoholic, but it can. You become an alcoholic when you can't stop yourself from drinking (physical dependence on it). Just like a smoker who can't quit smoking.

Well, if you start drinking around 6 a.m. then you have more time during the day to drink more so you'll probably become an alcoholic. Your friend needs to get help (or at least sleep in).

You should at least wait until 5 to start drinking. If you start any earlier you may have a problem. We are talking about the time of day and not years old right?.....

Early or not, anyone is more likely to be an alcoholic than someone who doesn't drink

no, you're gonna be an alcoholic either way. Some people's parents don't allow them to drink, even try alcohol till they're 21, and when they become 21, on the first night they start drinkin so much that they practically kill themselves. actually if your parents let you try alcohol when you're little, it doesnt taste good to little kids, you're gonna hate it.
