have an old zenith console tv. after a thunder storm, during which the tv was off, the power would not return?

Was it still plugged in? sometimes you can get a spike through the wires even if the appliance is not on.

ck. back of TV there may be a Red RESET button you can
push 1 x & restore picture. It may be located at base near cord.
