Got a solution for the Fidel Castro problem?

Individuals sometimes have better solutions than politicians. It would be interesting to hear some opinions on how that little powerless peon and his regime can reasonably, thoroughly and quickly be rooted out.

Actually, Fidel is not a problem for us. I don't see that Cubans are blowing up planes or anything like that. And if we are losing friends in Central and South America, we really have only ourselves to blame. Fidel has stood up to the US rather well, considering, and if that is an inspiration to others who also would stand up to the US, well, it is the US who gave Fidel something to stand up to.

But on to the larger question, getting rid of the political system there. When there is a sizable middle class, then there will be agitation for change. Poor people who have nowhere to turn but their government will not turn against the hand that feeds them, tends to their illnesses, etc. Rich people didn't get rich giving to the poor. It is always a sizable enough middle class with stuff to lose and with demands for a share in power that brings about political change.

So I say forget this crushing embargo that hurts the Cuban people so much. Open up and flood the place with all things middle class - TV's, cars, dvd's, makeup, toiletries, MacDonald's, and so forth. Of course, we would have to start with those things that would build up the economy so people could buy these things, agricultural products mainly, and go on from there.
