I did get blood in the face once, alot, due to a clog in the artery. And got stuck by the sew up needle twice. It was like 1982-83. Is it possible to have contracted it from a dead body.

yes it's possible. however, there is more than one way of getting hcv....too many to list, but tatoos, peircings, dentist office proceedure, mass innoculations (75% of infected are veterans)
going to the barber and getting nicked....anything that had blood on it and it enters a person, has a chance of hcv infection. even surgeries of any kind before 1995.

i might add that getting blood on the face as long as there were no open wounds on your face or body would not be transmittalbe that way....only blood to blood...so the needle stick is highly suspect for contracting HCV.

Hepatitis C is a liver disease caused by the hepatitis C virus (HCV), which is found in the blood of persons who have this disease. HCV is spread by contact with the blood of an infected person :
Stop using alcohol.
See your doctor regularly.
Don't start any new medicines or use over-the-counter, herbal, and other medicines without a physician's knowledge.
Get vaccinated against hepatitis A if liver damage is present.

I know someone that contracted Hepatitis C from a blood transfusion in 1979 (before blood was tested for it)... so I guess it's not impossible that you got it from a dead body if there was still blood in it

Hello,

Even healthcare people make mistakes, they might have reused a needle without knowing, anything could have happened.

If you arent a virgin and used protection, then that isn't how it was transmitted.

Good luck
