Weather, mechanical problems, or a problem with the crew can all cause flights to be delayed.

Sometimes a flight is delayed because the flight is UNDERBOOKED.
In that case, if, along the entire route, the flight will be underutilized, the airline might substitute a smaller, more-economical craft.
They have the right to do that.
And perhaps that smaller craft is 1,000 miles away: that makes for a 2-hour delay -- or more.
I once flew on a 100+-seat aircraft as one of SEVEN passengers -- 'cause the plane was needed elsewhere, and would have been ferried there even without passengers.

I do know there is a national orange alert on all flights today. Brittain has a red alert. They caught terrorists at an airport over there today that were planning on killing people. I'm not sure of all the details...I only saw a quick news alert. I was supposed to fly US Airways from Tampa to Philly on flight 469 today and teturn next Tuesday on flight 929. I decided to cancel my flight and will reschedule later. I'm not flying when there is any kind of alert...no matter what color alert it is!

Write the letter, you'd be shocked I wager. from time to time without doing so the airline will deliver you a voucher for 100 off your next flight or something. i could assume something like that or a significant different value ticket in case you write an in intensity letter. try now to not repeat your self and sound as professional as a probability. try now to not use lines like "i am going to under no circumstances fly this airline back" etc. truly state your case and let them renowned how upset you're. element out the way you employ the airline each of the time and under no circumstances had any actual complications in the previous etc. per chance provide some actual looking recommendations on the way you've "made it acceptable".

Bad weather, mechanical problems, crew problems (illness, late, whatever), security issues (my sister missed her flight this morning because security was raised to an orange alert and she couldn't get through security in a timely manner).
