We say God the Father,God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. That is the Holy Trinity. We usually refer to God as a male because we are thinking of God the Father most of the time. The good thing is...He is not a chauvinist. Alleluia.

In all likelihood, God does not have a specific gender but rather can manifest him/herself in any form he/she chooses.

We use the personal pronouns 'he' and 'she' to display God as more personable than using 'it' although that may be a more gender-neutral term.

There are other reasons too. We are told that we are created in God's image and likeness and therefore it makes sense that God should have a gender, like we do.

Also, much of our religious doctrine was developed in a time where power was almost exclusively in the hands of males, so naturally the All-Powerful Being would be male as well to reflect that basis.

Well, you can see:
The sky is blue, therefore God is a guy.
If the sky were pink you could sustain that God is a girl.
But seriously he has no sex, it is just a limitation in human language and understanding the reason why we have to identify God a way or another.

He is neither, what makes a man a man, means he has a penis. But the fact that he has no flesh means hes not a male or a female. The reason we refer to him as a him is because he created Man first in his image and females were created out of Man therefore they are called Woman.

If there is a god...... it must be all things masculine and feminine.
People say "He" because we dont have polite or respectful pronouns, in English, for an "it".

Agree. And if God didn't have the two main principles: feminine and masculine, he wouldn't quite be divine, don't you think?
