my bf lives far away, so we have a long distance relationship (which sucks) but we are making it. He really loves me and he is very interested in me, he has really show me a lot of interest. What I don't understand is that when he says he will call me he doesn't do it, and its me the next day that calls him. He's been doing this for 2 days in a row, and I really don't want to start freaking out.

ask him whats up with that and try to remind him again to call you before you get off the phone with him.

If he really loves you, and if you really love him (and I'm guessing that you two are in this relationship for quite a long time...), than just give him space for a week or so.
If he really have interest in you, he will call you!
If not...hm, maybe he's not that into you, especially if you two are not that long togher yet.
You just have to trust in a long distance relationship. That's what only counts. If you can't, sorry to say but it's waste of time.
