As in do whatever they want? Generally it's because they feel most "youngens" owe them respect regardless of what they do because the are our elders. Granny's piss me off when they pull out in front of me and require me to SLAM on the brakes and nearly run off the road and then pretend like they had no idea traffic was even around...

Cuz who is really going to stop an old person from saying whats on their mind. I've noticed that the older you get, the more willing you are to say whatever, and people rarely stop you. Its one of the VERY FEW perks to getting old. Dont dog it... Someday you'll be doing it.

What is "elderly"???? Most older people have been that way all their life's. Being rude is something I find unforgivable.

I think if they really wanted to kill someone and they were older or ill, death would be the out for them.

because they can. esp if they fought in WWII or vietnam. if my grandfather wants to kill someone cause they annoy him, i think he's earned that right since he saw things in europe that i can't even begin to imagine

i don't think they know that they do some of the things they do. and plus, they have paid their dues, cut them a little slack. you will grow old one day too.
