If you want something inexpensive, I sometimes do this. I buy a large Hershey or Symphony candy bar (they sell for about $2) and then print up a wrapper on the computer. I have done Happy Birthday, Good Luck on Your Retirement, Thank You. Just center your words on the middle of the document, add some clip art and print on card stock. I use a paper cutter to trim some of the excess cardstock off the side--then tape it over the candy bar to cover the original wrapper. You maybe have seen smaller versions of this on the .50 candy bars in a gift store. Also, I have been making up gift baskets. I go to the dollar stores, pick up containers, put in some basket fill, add different assortments of chocolates. I've done a movie theme already, too--popcorn container, couple bags of microwave popcorn, bottles of pop, assortment of candy you would get at a movie theatre (Dots, Skittles, M & M's), etc. Then put clear wrap over the basket and tie with ribbon. You can get the clear wrap in dollar stores, too. Looks like you spent a lot but you really didn't! Good luck and let your creative juices start to flow!

A box of chocolates (especially if you have a local chocolate dipper that has unique things like chocolate covered gummie bears and marshmallows) with a card from your kids, homemade cookies/brownies/goodies or a gift certificate to the local pizza or ice cream place.
What not to give (trust me):
-anything religious-- even if you go to a religious camp, chances are the counselors may not be the same religion
-bags of ramen/canned goods/laundry soap for college
-alcohol (they may really want it, but most likely can't accept it and will have to report it to their boss, especially if they are underage)

If you're talented give them some of your crafts, if you're good with words write a poem or thank you card, if you have money to spare, buy something that they might need. Counselors might be working students trying to earn some pocket money, so you might get them some stationary or a gift certificate. Don't give them something you can't afford, because while they are trying to make pocket money they tend to be sensitive and caring people who would feel uncomfortable with a beneficiary's sacrifice. Nothing better than a simple thank you, if it's straight from the heart.
I'm sure any way you express your thanks will be appreciated.

Really good whistles and fun lanyards. The Fox 40 is pretty much the best whistle out there and fun lanyards can be picked up at the dollar store.

Have all the kids make something for them. Maybe they can make a picture frame and put a picture of all of them in it.
