stopped because the car was so powerful to the extent that many drivers couldn't handle it on the highways? I also heard that many drivers of that version lost their lives in deadly accidents.

No. They car was fast for its time however it was also very safe. They stopped making because it was no longer feasible. Why do they stop making any car. Think about it. Also that was not a car everyone could afford to drive and came out in the first big gas crunch. There are many cars now that far surpass it for power and speed.

Ridiculous! Try the Mercedes McLaren SLR sometime. It would blow the doors off the old 6.9. The only reason the 450 SEL 6.9 is no longer is because time marched on and it's design was outdated and new models replaced it.
