i always have highlighted my hair blonde.. then a hairdresser colored it back to my normal brown color. a year or so later, i wanted some reds and caramel blondes in it. I loved it, but after the colors started to fade, i decided to get them done a little brighter. So, my hairdresser started to do blonde and red on my hair. she never showed me the red color, when it was done.. im not joking it was neon red. I mean i love bright colors, but this was ridiculous, especially next to the bright blonde, i looked like a clown. The lady said when i washe dit , it would fade to a darker red. Well, when i washe dit, it was a pastel/ hot pink. I was hysterical. My hairdresser said she didnt have time to fix it. So i went to anothe rlady that stripped it. Although there is no more pink, in those spots it is now orange. This happened about 3 weeks ago. So my question is what will cover better over the orange (i wanna keep the blonde part)-- a lighter blonde, dark blonde, or brown?.. help!

Yes you can do it. Im a qualified hairdresser and have very dark brown hair myself. I have recently put a bleach blonde flash through i and its came out fine, its taken time though. You do need to be careful though. Its probably better to do it over a few months and use a weaker strenght peroxide [9% for the first application then 6% for each application after that] than try to get it all the colour you want at once. It will go a yellow colour at first but just keep going over it, with the weak peroxide. If your hair gets really frzzy and damaged though then dont do it anymore. Most hairdresers wont touch it because if it doesnt come out right it looks bad on them. You jsut need to be careful and know what you doing. Make sure you keep your hair in very good condition in between & after each bleaching session, get some good conditioning treatments from a beaty store Boots or something and keep doing them. Let me know if you want any more help with this sweetie :) Good luck.

color it dark brown (the darker the better) and try to choose a color that would have less of a red tone to it. orange is the hardest color to cover, so if you try to lighten it it would become "neon- orange"... or even worse- a bright yellow.
if you go dark blonde it would still show from underneath and become a darker orange, but that's about it.
the safest way is to go dark, and choose a sort of grayish brown (I know, that's boring, but still). it would take the bright redness out of the orange and should leave you with light brown highlights.

#1. Dont ever go back to the first lady! If she didnt have time to fix what she messed up...Forget her!!! #2. You need to put a darker color on the orange, but have it done professionally. Make sure they give you a color that will neutrilze the orange tones. Also, explain the situation to the NEW stylist. She may take pitty on you and give you a discount.

I would go darker, I don't think you will ever get the desired results with trying to get the blonde back.

I sympethsize, my hair was ruined a few months back by a crappy hairdresser. It really make you crazy.

You mmay hat to for go the blonde part for know. But I would start with the medium blonde. And see what happens there. Actually shouldn't your hair dresser be responsible for fixing this.

that lady shouldn't be operating. make her pay for the "hairapy". if she refuses, set a lawsuit. meanwhile, take pics of your hair and make it dark blonde.
