No, carrot cake does not count toward your five a day. The small amount of shredded carrot in your slice does not amount to much. What does amount to alot however is the excessive fat and calories that carrot cake contains. Sorry!

It might count for 1/4 Th of a serving of veggies.
and 1 serving of sugar and 1 of grains.
But I love your thinking. With Cream Cheese
icing it can count for Dairy. Don't we all wish?

i don't see why not. i mean... cake is basically a vegetable itself made from sugar (which is a plant) and wheat (also a plant) and carrot (yes... also a plant)
i think they should change the food pyramid anyway, cake needs to have its own section

Yep, and if you eat something of someone elses plate it has no calories (also, if a packet contains no nutritional information then it means the food has no calories, fat, carbs, sugar etc.)
