You have good comments there, thanks. But maybe u can recall Marian apparitions, She has been appearing to people ahroughout the two thousand years since she gave birth to Jesus. Mary gave rosary to saint Dominic around 1208 AD. There is good wealth of information regarding Marian Apparitions and how praying via her as intercessor to her son is rewarding. What do u say?

The Rosary is not something that leads us away from Jesus. In fact, it is a way to reflect upon the events found in the Gospels. Following are the events, or mysteries that are contemplated while praying the prayers and the virtue to pray for:
Joyful Mysteries
The Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Fruit of the Mystery: Humility
The Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Fruit of the Mystery: Love of Neighbor
The Nativity of Our Lord Fruit of the Mystery: Love of God
The Presentation of the Lord in the Temple Fruit of the Mystery: Obedience
The Finding in the Temple Fruit of the Mystery: Zeal for God
Luminous Mysteries
The Baptism of Jesus Fruit of the Mystery: Openness to the Holy Spirit
The Marriage at Cana Fruit of the Mystery: To Jesus through Mary
The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God Fruit of the Mystery: Repentance and Trust in God
The Transfiguration Fruit of the Mystery: Desire for Holiness
The Institution of the Eucharist Fruit of the Mystery: Adoration
Sorrowful Mysteries
The Crucifixion of Jesus - the fifth of the Sorrowful MysteriesThe Agony in the Garden Fruit of the Mystery: Contrition
The Scourging at the Pillar Fruit of the Mystery: Purity
The Crowning with Thorns Fruit of the Mystery: Courage
The Carrying of the Cross Fruit of the Mystery: Patience
The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus Fruit of the Mystery: Self-denial
The Glorious Mysteries
The Resurrection of Christ. Fruit of the Mystery: Faith
The Ascension of Jesus. Fruit of the Mystery: Hope
The Descent of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost. Fruit of the Mystery: Charity
The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Fruit of the Mystery: The grace of a Happy Death
The Coronation of Blessed Virgin Mary in Heaven. Fruit of the Mystery: Trust in Mary's intercession
If a person is merely just saying the prayers without any thought of what he or she is saying or with no thought on the mysteries, then yes, it would be vain repetition. Prayed correctly, the Rosary is a series of prayers done in repetition, much like some of the Psalms are repetitious, but it is not done in vain.

The "Holy Rosary" as you call it is only one version of a means to get closer to spirit and therefore God by prayer, diligence and repetition. The beads are in almost every culture and although your prayers are different, the end result is usually the same. A habit gone, a mantra confirmed through repetitive self convincing, a prayer concentrated upon in a way that facilitates dedication and consistency.
It is not, never has been and should not be all about the "Holy rosary" Personally, I am not a Buddhist and I have always preferred the prayer beads of Tibet. They are more beautiful to me and God said that He "hates vain repetition." I wonder how many catholics use them, because they think they should or have been trained from childhood to blindly do as they were instructed without an understanding of what it even means?

Creed books, priests, nuns, instrumental music, worshipping the pope or any other human, worshipping Mary, baptizing babies, etc... Those are not found in the Bible. Indeed, if the Bible is the perfect law of liberty, then why use a creed book? Why keep adding to or taking away from God's Word? Because they wanted things done their own way, so they adopted their own traditions and sanctions. So many of their practices are anything but Biblical. Todays Christians are to use the New Testament. In order to be a true Christian, one born of water, you must follow the steps to salvation: Steps of Salvation
Hear - Rom 10:17
Believe - Heb 11:6
Repent - Acts 2:38
Confession - Matt 10:32-33
Baptism - Mark 16:16
Live faithfully - Revelation 2:10; Romans 5:1-2
Failure to do so, is not being in the Lord's church. You're not a Christian unless you're in the Lord's church. You're not in the Lord's church unless you've been baptized(and baptism is immersion-not sprinkling or pouring). And also, where in God's Word can you find the Catholic church? There is only one church, Christ's church. And he said to Peter "Upon this rock I will build MY church".. I see nothing of the Catholic church there.

The Bascillia of the National Shrine of the Immiculate Conception publishes a very good book with scripture and Catholic dogma releated to each mystery. Have you heard of the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy. It's great too.

this doesnt look like a quesiton its a statement... do I agree.. no
practically speaking the rosary can become a Jesus substitute
and so I dont think its a good idea
in the scriptures we do see Mary last in the book of acts on her knees in the upper room at pentacost.. and it is proabbly wise to leave her in the place of honor the bible does praying to God and folowing her good example
it is problematic to even know how mary would hear prayers or act on them as she is not omnicient and canot loo on ones hearts and can be a diversion form the gospel of the cross

reading the Bible is great too, believe me ;-). Christians may pray differently, God still hears the prayer...what works for you doesn't work necessarly for others. We have to respect that. God Bless
