One might wonder if his audience is merely too stupid to laugh. The condition of being afraid to laugh is one of the most joyous of His many gifts. In that tiny fracture between humour and respectability lies Truth.

God set out a plan for humankind in the beginning.
One of the things that man started doing to a perfect creation was to question God the way that you are doing.
If you would read the Holy Bible prayerfully asking the guidance of the Holy Spirit your answer would be handed to you on a silver platter, and you would recieve salvation in the bargain.
God is our Heavenly Father who set out a perfect plan for a perfect world and we, allowing another creature, namely Satan to tempt us into sin .
Also in the Bible in case anyone is curious it says "God created man, male and female created he them." I quoted this for someone who asks well what about women? No matter how man has fouled the planet God still loves us and gave us a final answer, JESUS.

I like this quote, and most possibly I think that if God exist, I think he might more likely to be insane and not just a comedian.

I was taught that if I ever wanted to make God laugh all I had to do is show Him a copy of my plan for the day.

I don't think people are too afraid. I think death, poverty, war, suffering, etc. just isn't particularly funny.
