Shimmering lakes and sparkles....with photoshop?

Ok, I have been trying to figure out how to do those beautiful shimmering lakes and sparkles in Photoshop.. Can someone point me in the right directiion? I can take it from there....Would be muchly appreciated.

I have been using photshop for over 10 years and I can't think of an exact way to do that. All I can think of is trying to dodge areas lighter, and adding lighting effects. Trial and error, that's the fun of photoshop.
