We are supplying our own alcohol and mixers at our wedding reception. We will have beer (2 kegs), wine, gin, vodka and bourbon. How many bottles of wine and alcohol do we need? How many bottles of mixers do we need? Is tonic water, coke, 7-UP, cranberry juice and OJ sufficient?

I would add a couple of other alcohols (rum, tequilla, maybe a brandy or a cordial), and get like 10 - 15 bottles of each. Maybe a little less on the burbon, and more on the vodka. Mixers, add diet coke, pineapple juice and grapefruit juice. A lot of people drink diet sodas now for many reasons. It is a must. You don't have to go crazy with buying too much of the grapefruit and pineapple, but people will apreciate it. I would also match the amount of mixers to the amount of alcohol you buy. Too much booze is not a problem, you can always take it home, but not enough is a problem.

How many are actually going to drink. Go to a major liquor store and ask. I would say 3 bourbon, 3 gin, 3 vodka. 5 of each mixer. Maybe 20-25 bottles of wine. 2 - 1 red over white. Case of champagne.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. The quantity of alcohol you require depends on your guests drinking capacity. You seem to have everything pretty much covered. You may want to supply a diet soda. If there will be any children, a nice fruit punch will be great. Good luck to you.

See if you can buy from a liquor that will let you return the unopened bottles. Tell them what you're doing and then buy more than you'll think you'll need.
