Ziti is the name of the shape of pasta. Baked Ziti is a dish that really is just marinara sauce and cheese on the cooked pasta and then it's baked.

It's really good. It's like spaghetti except it's with Ziti pasta. You have the sauce and noodles put in a lasagna pan together with hamburger, and then you put cheese all over the top, it's really good. Especially with garlic Texas Toast.

Ziti is a type of macaroni. It is generally boiled then mixed w/a spaghetti sauce, several types of cheese (mozz. & ricotta) then baked in the oven, thus the "baked."

It is pasta that is cooked, sauce poured over it, then it is put into a cake pan or casserole pan and baked usually with cheese over it...I think you can use penne pasta with that
