I thought about going off on a rant about Christian education and how monk scribes preserved much of the knowledge of the world during the dark ages. Instead I'll just give my usual admonishment about generalizing about diverse groups of people and point out your blatant bigotry then thumb-down the question and move on.

I have been a Christian for many years. But I am also human, for whatever reason God did not take my inability to spell away from me when I became a Christian.
I was educated in a public school, which did not educate my inability to spell out of me it is a quirk of my particular DNA, person, whatever gives you the talents or abilities.
The fact that I can not spell has very little to do with it being the sign that I am or am not a true Christian.
As for grammar, it is a subject that is vastly over looked in today's schooling system. No wonder more people do not know proper grammar, Christians included.
As for the intellectual, there are some of them who although they state their premises in the very best of an analytical way they too have problems with spelling, and grammar. If you are noticing why not notice all those who are poor those at the study of grammar, and the poor spellers. It has very little to do with Christianity.

My sister's a physics and math whiz in high school and a devoted Christian...who can't spell. I don't think it has to do with being a Christian so much as it has to do with A.) what one's priorities are; B.) how one is raised. If one is raised to care only for spelling and grammar versus content, then that is what one will notice most. It was the first thing I ever noticed about her writing, lol. But I never thought to blame it on her being Christian. Hmm.
Bigotry and elitist attitudes are not attractive, dude.

Ha Ha. I can go along with that, even being a Christian. It's good to make light of things. The truth is, it's not just Christians with poor sp. and grammar. A lot of it stems from "computer savvy," and lack of keyboard skills. Also, if you look around, you will notice mistakes are made across the board, it's not just from Christians. I can support secular anti-intellectualism. However, I will strive for understanding of God's word in my life.

That's kinda hateful. At the same time, I have noticed that the Christian fundamentalists who post things like "Why are non-Christians so Dumb?" DO have poor grammar and spelling. I think it's because most of these people are like, 13-14 years old, don't pay much attention in school to things like that, or don't care about things like that, and believe everything they're told.
Most decent, intelligent Christians who are a nice testament to their faith tend to have fine grammar and spelling.

highly inaccurate because I always got 100% on my English and Grammar.
And I have been Catholic all my life.
Now see, you for example, your grammar is horrible. Do you remember, capitalize your proper nouns? And the first letter at the beginning of the sentence? And to space your words?
Looks like you are the only one who has bad grammar here if you ask me.

Your question should have started with a capital "H". The "C" in "Christians" is capitalized. "must be the signs of a true christian" is not a proper sentence. You don't have a subject and predicate. "most protestant preachers...." should have started with a capital "M" and "Protestant" is spelled with a capital "P". "anti-intellectualism" requires a hyphen between anti and intellectualism. "now its happening". Should be "Now it's happening." "Its" is possessive. "It's" means it is.
Try learning some grammar and spelling yourself before you criticize others.

That's hilarious! Particularly when it is you who has just began 4 sentences without capital lettering!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but: Intelligent Protestant Christian here.
By the way, did you actually obtain the copyright to those words in which you claim to have a trademark for?
Wow! Some may not possess accurate writing skills, but at least we know not to commit copyright infringements.

Well, what are we gonna do????? I think it may be which generation of students as to the schools' emphasis on grammar and spelling. I have two "specialty physicians" with horrible grammar. Both graduated Phi Beta Kappa from major universities and went to medical school, residency, and fellowship at one of the top schools. No one cares but the older generation.......you must be in the senior group.
