It can be, but it is'nt necessary. The best thing to invest a lot of money in is a good straightener or blow dryer. The CHI products are awesome. For about $80-$100 you can get a great CHI product.
I also like BIOSILK, AVEDA, and other more expensive products, but you can get by with oilsheen ($4), Parnevu ($3) or anything else that's good for your hair type, just use a good straightener, blowdryer, or culring iron!!!!!!!!!!

Yes. I believe that you get what you pay for!! If you go somewhere where a haircut only costs $10, it is probably going to suck!!!!! You dont need to go overboard and spend more than you have to, just meet half way! Example: A good haircut with style $25-35, Just a haircut $20-30, Foil highlights $70-120 (depending on length/product/time needed.

Definitely!!! Good hygiene (especially hair care) separates the the winners from the losers... the cool from the uncool... the rich from the poor...the intelligent from the morons (well maybe not that much but you get the point). Don't spend all of your time on hair care though. You mustn't forget about BO, bad breath, unsightly hair, toe fungus, pimples, warts, flatulence, wrinkles, stretch marks and odors from the unmentionable areas.
Good luck!

Yeah, if you're going to a really important event and want to be able to brag about how much you spent when people compliment you on your hair. If bragging about how much you spent isn't important to you then you can always find cheaper styles that still are very polished looking or learn to do it yourself.

I dont think so coz it'll only last a few weEks.
even if it does stay for a longer period of time, it'll only be bad for your hair later, coz overstyling isn't good in the long run

If you have a lot of money, go for it, but if your budget is tight do research before you buy products.

Nope. I am a guy and every few weeks I just buzz it off. It's clean, inexpensive and low maintenance.
