Have you considered that maybe it's where you're looking that's wrong? Try looking in places where nice guys will be like quiet pubs, libraries, book clubs, wine clubs. If you go to clubs, loub pubs, or these "speed dating" things, you'll only ever meet assholes. Also, have you tried looking at work? Then you have the advantage that you know what the person is like. Plus flirting at work makes the day go so much faster!

I was a nice guy (and I hope I still am in some ways), but we get walked over, trampled on and spat out.
Its an unfortunate fact that most nice guys have to toughen up and be a bit more bad otherwise the same thing happens over and over again. This leaves women like yourself in a position where you cant find the kind of man you want because someone else (or maybe you have) turned them into arseholes.
I dont mean to sound bitter but its a sad fact of life that being nice gets you absolutely no where.
I recommend you look for a real man. Someone who is not a wuss, but not an arsehole either, someone who is a good balance of both and someone who appreciates people. i would like to think i am one of those people. But finding a good woman is just as hard as finding a good man.....its all down to chance.

Women arnt attracted to nice guys so either we become assholes or we avoid social interactions. If woment werent so attracted to the bad *** or cool type and get with more nice guys the world would turn into a differnt place.
