Checked the census records to ensure I had the correct information. The records online do not list him as a captain, only a lieutenant, but captain sounds better. He may have served for several different units. Based on his having received a pension, you can request (buy) his service records from the National Archives for a more complete record of his service.

Hello,

I don't do the work for you, but I have some sites listed that will help. You simply spend time on the internet, putting in what you know. I can't answer some vital questions, that you could easily. So, I recommend you use some of these sites and do it yourself.

The first site is about Civil War soldiers and sailors. You can get your ancestors information that way. And all the better, an Officer should have more documentation.
