Shade Stacy was my great grandfather, father of James Garfield Stacy (11/28/1872 -9/7/1968).?

My grandfather and Dad (Arnold Stacy (6/6/1908 -7/18/1989) often spoke about "Captain Shade Stacy who fought for the Republicans in the Civil War". Can any of you find information about his military record or any other information about his lineage? I'm having trouble with my research. I need other help asap !
