Yes, I think so. There are many factors that indicate both the ambition and capability of China to become ‘next super power’ in the 21st century. But I will mention only a few – the most obvious one. It is amazing to see China building its industrial infrastructure at such a gigantic scale so fast when there is a global outcry regarding climate change, global warming, pollution, and also about looming environmental catastrophe due to very fact. Why is China paying no heed to this what is the desperation? And what is the vision so strong?

There is also a strong possibility of a total depletion of fossil fuel resources round the world soon within this century. If there is no fuel left then what would chine use to fuel it massively developed industrial machine?

This all makes no sense at all. But a close look reveals a different picture. The fact is that it is possible to rebuild a country at this scale when there are still resources available in terms of excavation, transportation, and building. Besides, China still has its vast coalmines. It has a program well in place right now for the next seven years to build at least one coal-based electric power plant per. Coal is going to last very long in the future either but it is going to last long enough to find an alternative source of power. Could that be fusion atomic reactors that are going to be possible in about fifty years time? Not to speak of those space missions. China aims to fly real high, this much I can tell you.

China has already positioned themselves to be the next super power. Boeing has built large plants and sales over there for the aircraft have more than doubled in the past two years. They have large amounts of exports going out with very little imports coming in every day while the U.S. is weighed down by all the imports coming in and very little exports going out. We (the U.S) consume way more than most countries. Plus they also have a million man army. Reality is China is not as far off from a super power as many people would like to believe.

No. To be the next superpower you need three vital ingredients. Newsworthy leaders, diverse culture and something else that the world thinks it wants. China might become a superpower at some point in the future, but I reckon India will get there first.

It is already... and they don'[t have to prove it.
MILITARY
In case of war.....it is not necessary to shot not even one bullet.
Just hypothetically let say they are in war with USA...the send 4-5 ARMY corps to be surrendered. about 100-200 nillion soldiers.
USA according to Geneva convention is obliged to feed them and provide shelter.
Can you understand now who is the winner???? Just let ur imagination free.:)

USA is saved because between China and USA there is a Pacific Ocean. Can u imagine what could happen if at the place (geographical) of Mexico was China?????
FINANCIAL
Already China, one month ago, declared $23billion surplus for the 1rst quarter of2006. and (latest news 11/8/2006: Total gross domestic product between January and June reached 9.14trillion yuan (1.14 trillion U.S dollars), NBS spokesman Zheng Jingping told a press conference in Beijing Tuesday morning.

No, even though their economy is exploading they will have to reach a point where secularism forces the government ot address the issues of pollution and health/food for their people. Their comunist system will fail because of the amount of people in the country. There will be more pressure and revolts to give freedom to the people. It will happen soon (within a decade or two).

Look how their growing economy. Foreign trade/business is hugely expanding, I suspect they will be at the top of the economy table soon. Also they will become a force to be reckoned with in a political sense.
