Yup.

If you know where to look you can download a crack for it.

But that would be illegal and I wouldn't recommend it at all in any way!!!

stop rigtht now, firstly we will be able to get this p.c looking like a genuine windows at no cost, just follow these instructions
1)where there is a 5 pointed blue star in your taskbar, right click this and click were it says"change notification settings",this will take you to a microsoft webpage were you can tick a box to stop all the notifications, you have to understand that you wont receive any updates, although you do get them as you get all critical updates and security updates, now when you re-boot you wont see that annoying dialog box that you have to press every time you log on
2)like i said before ,you will still receive updates, but you cannot download or install certain software, but thats a small price to pay to save you £70
3)one problem will be in october when you wont be able to receive service pack 1 updates, meaning if you reinstall your windows ungenuine disk ,you will not receive any updates after october, but you will receive the updates up to that time, also as your copy is not genuine, you cant install service pack 2 which is a big security risk
4)however if you wish to activate your copy,it will be alot cheaper than buying a brand new copy, many users have tried to crack the activation software ,but microsoft allways find a update to stop it
5)if you do decide to buy a copy of xp ,you should get it from http://www.dabs.com/productlist.aspx?&NavigationKey=11168&NavigationKey=4294958989&CategorySelectedId=11168&PageMode=1
,you can pick up a copy for less than £60 and this is the cheapest on the web
good luck

Well. i m having same problem. i borrow one of my frnds copy and installed it. there is only another way u can get rid of the notice"You may be victim of not liable copy"
U have to reinstall windows xp and once u r done with that, dont dowload anything from MIcrosoft people. You will be ok. Also u can find key generator on google, if u need a key. If u cant find it buzz me. Good luck

Microsoft has done an excellent job at blocking out pirated copies.

Very difficult to get around unless you know of someone who has a Corporate License (does not need activation)

Good luck... it's only going to get harder with Vista, the next version of Windows.

all you have to do is ring microssoft and tell them ther problem just say i just bought the computer from asdsa or somewhere crappy like that if that doesn't work you will have to format the drive then reinstall windows xp although it would be wise to get a brand new cd

It's cheapskates like you who make the rest of have to pay so much for the REAL thing. And I hope that if you DO manage to get help to install the illegal copy, I hope it puts so many viruses on your machine that the bloody thing falls apart. ...and there'll be important files missing, files missing from the registry, DLL files, CAB files, etc etc. AND SERVE YOU RIGHT ! ! !

No. But you can update Windows by using Windiz Update if it isn't genuine.

In a word.........NO

But if you need to get a new installation key, you could try phoning MIcrosoft and just saying it's a reinstallation - that usually works!
