Aerated drinks are bad for health whether or not they contain pesticidal residues. However, banning them is not a solution.. cos there are also other harmful substances that are available such as cigarettes, cigars, chewable tobacco, alcoholic drinks etc, which are more 'lethal' (if i could say that).
The point is.. would you be willing to refrain from using cola drinks once you come to know that they are harmful for you... or would you just take it in your stride and carry on like... 'who cares?'
There is nothing political or any vested interests that I see with the move of government taking actions on the Cola companies. They have been given a fair chance previously and were asked to check the contents which they failed to live upto..!!

No. I'm sure India has less strict guidelines on pesticides than the USA does.
