doctor said i might have I.B.S. its never been investigated though. i have all the symptoms and i need to start watching what i eat, although im not sure what affects me and what doesnt. any ideas?

Maybe you need to go for some food allergy testing. Bananas are very high in Potassium...possibly you have a food allergy? Definately stay away from them until you have resolved the problem...it could be dangerous..if you have an alaphalactic shock and your throat could close up. Be careful.....dont take any chances.... It could be because of the high potassium content in bananas. Or maybe you have an allergy or are taking medication that reacts to high levels of Potassium. I have IBS and I cant eat bananas at all. Hope that helps!

I have IBS and bananas are usually something I can eat with no problem. Maybe you have IBS plus some kind of allergic reaction to the banana.

bananas have a lot of potassium in them and you may have I.B.S or some allergy to bananas. i would stay away from them and any other banana product including cerals and breads containing bananas

Could be to much Potassium intake, ask your doctor for a test, could be a allergy you have!
